CENTRAL APPENNINES ITALY

The rocky spine of Italy could be regarded as one big national park, but our orchid itinerary was focused on four of the most well-known parks. Travelling from north to south theses: Cilento, Abruzzo, Grand Sasso and Monti Sibillini.  

The Apennines are a chain of mountains that form the backbone of the Italian peninsula. They extend some 480 miles(1,350km) from the region of Liguria in the north.
