COUMEENOOLE BEACH SOUTHWEST IRELAND

One of the best beaches for photographers in County Kerry. Made famous in David Lean's iconic movie Ryan's Daughter with Robert Mitchum and Trevor Howard. The scene was shot here with the villagers unloading the arms from the sinking ship. Parts of the film were shot on the Dingle Peninsula at various locations. It can be a dangerous beach with a strong incoming tide and you need to be careful on this particular stretch.

The tide here was coming fast and rogue waves were at times nearing the bottom of the foam padding on the tripod.
